Bootstrap Campus provides a pathway for local young professionals to connect and work with the Bootstrap community. We do this by connecting young people with industry professionals in work placements and workshops.
Bootstrap Campus run work placements for young people (16-24) who are not in education, training or employment. We create opportunities for young people to develop their career and gain vital real life experience, skills and new professional networks.
Young people work for 3 days a week, over a month, in a field that they are aiming to build a career in. The work placements are accredited to a NOCN Level 1 Award in Community Development & Leadership.
Past roles have included: Social media, event production, facilities assistant, office admin, accountancy, photography, front of house and many more…
The placements are structured so that young people can still claim JSA support and priorities job interviews that may arise. Some of the roles are salaried at the London Living Wage, others are unpaid with lunch and travel costs covered.
We run a range of different skills workshops with a range of different partners. Workshops can vary from a couple of hours to more in depth 8-week programmes. We have collaborated with a wide Hackney Schools, local youth groups, housing associations and charities.
We are always open to meeting new people and discussing new collaborations, please get in touch!
