Bootstrap Fund Launch – Houses of Parliament
The Bootstrap Fund is a pioneering mechanism we have established to tackle the affordable workspace crisis in London. Every Londoner is aware of the rocketing residential cost of living in the country’s capital and this crisis equally impacts commercial property. The unrelenting demand, coupled with the limited supply, for London property means that the price for workspace in the capital is soaring. An even more daunting prospect with the impending business rates revaluation in a matter of weeks.
On Thursday 23rd February Bootstrap will launch the Bootstrap Fund at the Houses of Parliament. The birth of the Bootstrap Fund signifies a large shift in the way we operate and it is an important moment in Bootstrap’s 39 year history. The change of business model was born out of the need to not only future proof Bootstrap, but also those most in need of affordable workspace here in London.
Diane Abbott MP will be hosting and speaking at the Fund Launch event, as well as talks from:
- Sara Turnbull, Bootstrap CEO
- Ben Johnson, Senior Adviser – Business & Digital Policy, Mayor of London
- Simin Azimi, Bootstrap Tenant
- Olivier Kugler, Bootstrap Tenant
The official launch of this flagship model is incredibly exciting and we believe it goes a long way to ensuring that creative and socially focussed organisations, charities and social enterprises continue to be able to operate in London. This model is scalable and we’re working hard towards other workspace providers adopting this approach across the city.
