You will have prime responsibility for Building maintenance of the three ‘Bootstrap Buildings’. The listed Print House, Fitzroy House and Colourwork’s buildings are steeped in local history; An ex Reeves printing house, fabric and Paint factories respectively.
Your responsibilities will include the supervision and Mentoring of our handyman; management of building budgets and existing contracts. You will oversee and coordinate building refurbishment work, and plan security strategy
You will be responsible for the development of a new maintenance program and investment strategy, and head up the development of a sustainability strategy for the building.
You will enjoy working in a team environment with a ‘hands on’ approach, be prepared to work flexible hours, and be comfortable liaising with our tenants.
This will be a full time job, reporting to the Chief Executive, and will pay between £21,000 and £25,000 per year depending on previous experience. Job Shares will be considered.

Dalston Open Studios (DOS) will be a programme of networking, training and mentoring that is for both Bootstrap tenants and local young people in Hackney. Dalston Open Studios aims to create a sustained link between the creative businesses and social enterprises working from Bootstrap, and young people in Hackney looking to learn more about working these industries.
For young people, lacking the economic or social capital to succeed in the creative economy, DOS will offer the chance to develop the skills they need to achieve their ambitions. While simultaneously creating networking opportunities and business support to creative SME’s with the aim that Bootstrap should become a ‘Creative Hub’ which supports people in the creative industries at all stages of their career;
Your role as project Leader will require project coordination and general administration. You will take responsibility for budget management and funding applications, and develop an on-going program of funding to support DOS. You will work with the Bootstrap Communication Co-ordinator for tenant liaison, and PR strategies. You will head up stakeholder management: internal and external – developing partnerships to engage young people and statutory bodies
You will be proficient in monitoring and evaluation, measuring impact including data analysis in order to establish a programme of recruitment for those young people and SME’s who would benefit most from DOS
This will
be a 4 day a week fixed-term role for the initial 6 month development period, reporting
to the Chief Executive, and will pay between £21,000 and £25,000 (pro rata) depending
on previous experience. Job Shares will be considered.
