Hackney Pirates

Hackney Pirates is an innovative education project aimed at supplementing the school system. We are a group of teachers, social entrepreneurs and creative professionals working to develop literacy skills and creative ability in young people by giving them one- to-one support in an unconventional learning environment.

During the summer holidays of 2010, we will be piloting the project with local volunteers and young people on Dalston Roof Park. Workshops start on 26th July and run throughout the summer holidays from 2-5pm on weekdays.

In workshops young people will can:

Design and produce a graphic novel.
